Plates are used as electrodes. IEC makes a number of plates of different sizes and materials.
The materials are:: carbon, copper, iron, lead, zinc, stainless steel and tin.
Sizes are 100x50mm, 100x25mm, 75x25mm.
Thickness is 3mm for carbon, 3mm or 1.6mm for copper and lead but only 1.6mm for all the other materials.
